What are some things I can do for a lifestyle detox?

Toxic Lifestyle

So how do you detox your lifestyle? Bodily detoxification is the process of removing the toxins from your body. So detoxing your lifestyle is the process of removing those things which cause your lifestyle to become toxic.

Toxin Build Up

Have you ever felt anxious, stressed and experience fatigue with no clear reason at all? If you have, then this might be an indication that you already have toxin build up in your body.

Toxic Substances

Substances that are toxic to our body come at us from all directions: the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, the cleaning products we use, and the metabolic waste produced inside us.

Toxin Symptoms

Toxins build up in the body faster than they can be removed, contributing to premature aging and chronic and degenerative diseases.

Toxin Producers

One of the biggest toxin producers today that is affecting more and more people is stress. The burden of negative thought patterns can create toxicity in your mind and body. Stress releases hormones in the body that decrease the liver ability to detoxify the body. The liver cleansing ability is reduced by stress. By reducing stress through proper diet and exercise, you can greatly reduce toxins in your body. Taking some yoga and meditation classes, (if you would like some Christ centered meditations, click here) learning relaxation techniques in breathing, and other stress reduction techniques will make you feel better and help remove toxins from your liver.

Affected By Toxins

Experts tell us that by the time we reach middle age, each one of us will have already been affected by either cancer, cardiovascular disease, or some other serious degenerative condition. Conventional medicine has no sure cure. Drugs, surgery, and radiation treatments can be as dangerous and debilitating as the diseases they attempt to cure.

Detox Diet Weight Loss

Detoxification is also helpful for weight loss (click here for our recommedation for weight loss), although this is not the primary purpose. The body stores toxins in fat cells. When you cleanse your body these toxins are more easily released from their fat stores. Since you then become less toxic, your toxin stores (the fat) are not as necessary and, thus, your body can rid itself of excess, unnecessary fat

Healthy Living

Once you know where your life needs detoxifying you can begin to make space for a healthier way of living. Focus on identifying one thing that is creating toxicity or stress in your life, and deal with that. When that thing is fixed, move on. Notice thought patterns that are creating toxicity. Once you know the areas you need to detoxify you can begin to find ways to cleanse you life. Focus on something that you have the power to change, rather than things you have no control over.
