Stress Detox

What are some things I can do for a stress detox?

Stress And Disease

Emotional stress is a factor that can contribute to disease. Even the general idea of starting a detox can make you stressed out, In both Eastern and Western medicine, stress is an enemy of your health. An occasional detox program can help to purify the body and bring it back into healthy stasis.

Stress And Weight Gain

Stress can add excess belly fat and decrease a person's health. The adrenal glands release hormones in response to stressors such as fright, anger, caffeine, or low blood sugar. The pineal gland (this link has a good illustration, http://www.crystalinks.com/thirdeyepineal.html) in our brain affects thyroid and adrenal cortex functions.

Adrenal Gland

The adrenal gland is the processor of stress in our bodies. It is there to help us adapt. When we become exhausted by life, on a mental or physical level, our adrenal glands often fail to keep up, and illness ensues.

Pineal Gland

The pineal gland talks to our adrenal glands when we are under stress and asks them to produce more steroids (cortisone) for the body in an effort to deal with the stress, these steroids then turn around and feed our belly fat which then grows as we know steroids to work.

Brain Detox

Brain detox diets are specially meant for detoxifying the brain in particular, which is stuck in some typical and undesirable pattern. These diets mainly comprise of the essential amino acids needed for the proper functioning of the brain.

Stress Testing

The following are some questions you can ask yourself that indicate you may be stressed out:

1. Do you often feel dizzy, faint, or like you haven't woken up, or like you're in a dream?
2. After getting up from lying position or after bending down, do you often feel lightheaded or dizzy?
3. Do you have dark circles under your eyes?
4. Are your nails brittle and weak? Is your hair is dry and thinning? Does your skin seems to be aging quickly?
5. Do you feel tired, run down, drained, or emotionally or physically exhausted much of the time?
6. Do you catch colds or other infections (cold sores, yeast or bladder infections, eye infections, boils, sinus infections) easily?
7. Do you have strong cravings for sweet or salty foods?
8. Do you feel overwhelmed or stressed by work, family, and other responsibilities?
9. Are you often irritable, impatient, or pessimistic?
10. Do you often have trouble waking in the morning, even though you went to bed at a reasonable hour?
11. Do you often feel tired after exercise, rather than energized?
12. Have you developed allergies, asthma, hayfever, skin rashes (hives, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne), arthritis, autoimmune disease, or other inflammatory conditions and/or have you taken anti-inflammatories or steroid drugs?

If you answered "Yes" to 4 or more of these, you are not handling stress very well, and you need to make some changes in your relaxation habits. Try this helpful relaxation item.

Overcome Stress

One of the reasons that a cleanse is so dramatically effective is that it commonly removes stress and disease causing "toxic" emotions. It is amazing how quickly people respond to just one cleanse.
